The most distinctive character of Iron Horse Pinot Noir is that it goes beyond the bright fruit character typical of the Russian River area, showing deeper, more earthy flavors that are special to Green Valley. This is a very expressive, stylish wine. It has extraordinary depth of character and yet the weight and texture of the wine are so light and silky, it just glides across the palette. Food Pairing: Here are our top ten dishes that we love with Pinot Noir: Tea smoked Liberty Duck Breast, Broiled Figs with Point Reyes Original Blue and Balsamic vinegar, Roasted Guinea Hen, Grilled Salmon Salad with Arugula and Laura Chenel Chevre, Boeuf a la Bourguignonne, Macaroni and Cheese with Cheddar and Bacon, Grilled Lamb Chops with rosemary, Seared Maine scallops with wild Chanterelles, chili rubbed Spare ribs bbqed over grapevines, sea salt seasoned French fries.
Wine Spectator A beautifully crafted and deftly balanced wine that achieves ripeness without excess. Smooth, rich and harmonious, with layers of black cherry, spice, nutmeg and wild berry flavors supported by ripe, integrated tannins. Long, complex aftertaste. Drink now through 2009. 5,000 cases made. Score: 90. —James Laube, May 31, 2005.Customers who purchased this item also bought:
