All I need to say about this brew is "yum."
But that would be a boring blog entry.
Released from the brewery a few weeks ago, Rumble is back and ready to conquer any other wood-aged IPAs on the market, and I couldn't be happier. This is hands down one of the most balanced brews combining both taste, and an easy drink. Don't get me wrong, I love big beers just as much as I love session beers but this one has it all. Usually with session beers you are forfeiting some flavor to make it more approachable and something you can actually have a a few without waking up the next day with sharpie all over your face. With big brews you know what you're getting into: bold flavors, big mouth feel, and high alcohol, Rumble is the perfect combination of the two categories. A light nose with notes of vanilla, smoke, and tropical fruits without the boozy alcohol presence is a refreshing twist from most IPAs in the 7%ABV range. The drink is amazingly balanced with tones of candied sugars, citrus, and oak tones not powerful, yet placed easily in the brew for you to enjoy. The beer sees both American and French oak to impart a dry fruit finish that lingers well onto the next sip, this is an extremely flavored brew for how easy it is to drink but at the same time it isn't gutless. At 7.1%ABV, and with a solid flavor profile, this is a perfect beer for heavily seasoned meats, soft cheeses, and grilled fish.
So the next time you are in the mood for a brew with flavor and structure without being a wimp or a bully, get a 6pack of Rumble and enjoy!

cheers,
Casey Capper
