Hope Estate
The 'Ripper' Shiraz is grown at Hope Estate's 28 hectare vineyard at Donnybrook in the Geographe region of Western Australia. The shiraz grapes are crushed on the west coast and then transported by truck across the Nullabor Plains to the Hunter Valley on the east coast where they are fermented and bottle. The must is chilled for this three day roadtrip and arrives with amazing colour and tannin extraction.

Hope Estate's 2009 The Ripper Shiraz presents a very deep garnet-purple color and expressive notes of crushed blackberries, kirsch and mulberries over notes of cedar, dried Provence herbs, lavender and a whiff of eucalypt. Full bodied, ripe and concentrated, the rich berry and spice flavors are well supported by a medium-firm backbone of chewy tannins and refreshing acidity, finishing with long lasting notes of toast and cedar. Drink it now to 2015+.

Sustainable practices incorporate organic standards and may exceed them and include ecologically and socially sound business practices such as fair pay for farm workers and energy conservation.
Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.
