The Flying Dog Litter of Ales was born from auspicious visions during a period of imposed exile and bred at the Flying Dog Brew Pub in Aspen, Colorado, one of the first brewpubs in the Rocky Mountain region. The demand and reputation of Flying Dog beers quickly outgrew the brewpub's capacity and our main brewery in Denver was sired. With the help of our loyal customers we once again out grew our facility and moved to our current Brewery located in Frederick, Maryland. Today the Flying Dog Brewery distributes the Flying Dog Litter of Ales in more than 47 states and 21 countries. Currently, the brewery has a capacity to brew 100,000 barrels of beer per year with room to grow. The Flying Dog Brew Pub in Aspen exists now only in our memories, but the Flying Dog Brewery Tap Room continues to serve as a Flying Dog community gathering place, reflective of our undying commitment to good beer, social interaction based on strong opinions and the freedom of irreverence. I rate wines using the 100-points scale. I have used this point system for close to 25 years. I still believe it is the simplest way to rate a wine, with its origins from grade school in the United States. A wine that I rate 90 points or more is outstanding (A), and worth buying. If I rate a wine 95 points or more (A+), it is a must buy.
