Just down the hill from the Revello brothersâ€™ estate, Mauro Molinoâ€™s winery sits only about 100 meters from the noble â€œConcaâ€ vineyard of the Annunziata. Mauro first bottled in 1985, and makes just a few hundred cases a year of cru Barolo, now assisted by his son Matteo. The structured, aromatic â€œGanciaâ€, is from limestone-rich soils right next to the Bricco Luciani, and the intense, exceptional â€œConcaâ€ from Molinoâ€™s small holdings in that cru. Parker describes Molinoâ€™s Barolo as a â€œdelicious, tasty fruit bomb. These are often massive wines that have the potential to last over 20 years.â€
