Rotari is a name that is derived from an historical legend.
According to local tradition, Mezzocorona, in ancient times, was the battlefield for an army guided by King Rotari. The emblem for Rotari "metodo classico" displays this legendary figure, a top a horse and carrying a flag, leading his army into battle.
Rotari is a combination of the Chardonnay and Pinot Nero grapes that have been rigorously selected and picked by hand and then vinified utilizing the latest technology.
Rotari has archieved an elite status among sparkling wines with its Trento DOC certification, the only DOC in ITaly recognized for "metodo classico".
"Metodo classico", or the traditional method indicates that the wine undergoes a second fermentation with yeasts inside the bottle. It is only after his second fermentation process that the sparkling wine becomes Rotari "Metodo Classico".
