At every step in the winemaking process, we take a level of care typically found with only more expensive wines. From carefully monitoring the Talus designated vineyards, to working closely with our growers, to selecting only the best grapes for our wines, our commitment to quality is unmatched. In fact, one member of our winemaking team spends seven months each year in the vineyards, advising growers on water and canopy management, grape ripeness and other viticultural matters. Talus Cellars, based in the Lodi-Woodbridge area of California, is dedicated to quality and value for the consumer. Since its introduction in late 1995, Talus has shown explosive growth – and continues to be a popular choice for consumers. I rate wines using the 100-points scale. I have used this point system for close to 25 years. I still believe it is the simplest way to rate a wine, with its origins from grade school in the United States. A wine that I rate 90 points or more is outstanding (A), and worth buying. If I rate a wine 95 points or more (A+), it is a must buy.
