Maison L'Envoye Two Messengers Pinot Noir 2014

SKU 48269

The wine opens with fresh red fruits aromas, light floral accents and notes of Asian spices. The palate is mouth-filling and lush with juicy primary fruit such as cherry and pomegranate balanced with an earthy complexity. Vibrant acidity and supple tannins support the flavors through a long, satisfying finish. Sometimes the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

Wine SpectatorLight and velvety, with pretty raspberry, plum and floral flavors playing against modest tannins, lingering gently. Drink now through 2020. 3,000 cases made.

Wine EnthusiastYoung, bright raspberry fruit brings fresh, forward flavors front and center. There's a touch of cherry Popsicle also. It's an undeniably pretty wine, ready to drink, though don't look for much in the way of either depth or concentration.

Wine AdvocateThe Maison l'Envoyé 2014 Two Messengers Pinot Noir is matured in 25% new French oak for 12 months and comes from 26 vineyards spread over six AVAs. It has a brisk red cherry and marionberry scented bouquet that is straightforward and nicely defined. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly hard tannin on the entry, firm in the mouth, a touch of sour cherry towards the finish that needs more substance and energy - it feels rather disjointed.
