Chateau Lestruelle Médoc 2014
|Region||France, Bordeaux, Medoc|
With top consultant Stéphane Derenoncourt behind this one, the wine is fine and ripe with just the right balance between tannin and rich blackberry fruit. There is a juicy character that shines through the youthful structure. The wine will age well. Drink from 2019.
The 2014 Lestruelle has a conservative but well defined tobacco and humidor-scented bouquet that opens up in the glass. You could not mistake this for anything other than a Left Bank Bordeaux. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, plenty of cedar and sous-bois notes with a harmonious and traditional Claret finish that indicates well made and prudent winemaking. Enjoy this over the next 5-8 years. Tasted September 2016.
All sizes are 750ml unless otherwise stated.
