Gloria Ferrer Blanc de Blancs

Wine Review Online
There’s a fairly narrow band of marketing viability for premium California sparkling wines, within which a wine must be fairly close to Champagne in quality but not too close in price. This wine is located precisely in that sweet spot. With expressive aromas of ripe, peachy fruit accented with notes recalling fresh bread dough, followed by soft flavors with gentle effervescence (and just a whisper of sweetness before it snaps to attention thanks to a zing of citrus acidity), there’s no question that this wine can compete globally in terms of quality. As for the price, it is extremely attractive, checking in at half the current asking price for good NV Bruts from the better Champagne houses. Buy it, serve it, make friends… and do so without breaking the bank. A Double Gold award winner at the 2018 Toast of the Coast Wine Competition.
Dry and fresh in acidity, with rounded corners of richness, this sings in apple, almond paste and a nice twist of gingersnap that lingers on the thickly moussed finish.
Made from 100% Chardonnay, the non-vintage Blanc de Blancs offers notes of white currants, green apple skins and flowers, medium body, good finesse, small bubbles, and a dry, bright, zesty finish. Drink it over the next year.
