This beautiful vineyard is a star in our portfolio, taking its place as the "oldest child" in our family of estate vineyards here in Russian River Valley. Now 18 years old, she has reached maturity and can be looked up to by our younger plantings. Meredith presents a fine example of our dedicated and careful farming - her grapes make richer and more substantial wines each harvest. This garnet-hued beauty dazzles us from the outset with generous brambleberry fruit, blackberry liqueur, ripe blue plums, blueberries, cherries and black currants. This opening salvo is followed by savory charcuterie and chanterelles, caramel, cocoa, anise, fennel and white pepper. White roses, wild strawberries, raspberries, framboise liqueur, cinnamon and vanilla drift over like an echo onto the palate. Its big entry displays ripe tannins, while the body is lush, bold and powerful. This Pinot is juicy and approachable, yet lengthens and broadens, building intensity through the dynamic, extended finish. As with previous vintages, this wine benefits and rewards the patient collector as it unfolds over time.

The 2020 Pinot Noir Meredith Estate is rich with primary fruit and notes of black cherry cola, lavender candy, and pine sap. The structure is full and grounding, with cocoa powder, red plum skin, and cedar spice. Hold this another year or so and drink over the next 15 years.

Vibrant fruits, subtle herb and oak accents and nervy acidity bring an elegant but powerful expression to this focused, delicious and just slightly restrained wine. Great balance, moderate tannins and the fruit intensity all indicate more enjoyment with time. Best from 2025-2032.

Medium ruby-purple, the 2020 Pinot Noir Meredith Estate has aromas of blueberries, black cherry jam, tar, iron, lavender and licorice. The palate is medium-bodied with pleasantly chewy tannins, understated cherry fruit, bright acidity and a long, spicy finish. Drink it over the short term for its bright, spicy fruits.

Mouthfilling, with ripe and lively boysenberry, plum and linzer torte flavors that bounce off each other, while anise and bramble fill in the available space. Not shy with the fruit, but has the freshness and form for balance. Best from 2023 through 2029. 1,180 cases made.

The 2020 Pinot Noir Meredith Estate is a gorgeous wine, especially within the context of the vintage. Succulent dark cherry, new leather, tobacco, spice, menthol and chocolate give the Estate notable exuberance, but at the same time, the 2020 is not at all overdone. It's a classic Russian River Pinot to drink now and over the next handful of years.
