Ritual Sauvignon Blanc 2015
|Region||Chile, Casablanca Valley|
James SucklingA sauvignon with a beautiful core of ripe fruit showing dried pear, apple and green mango aromas and flavors. Full body, pretty texture without giving away agility and tension. 30% produced in concrete eggs, 40% used barrels and the rest stainless.
Wine AdvocateI tasted the just-bottled 2015 Sauvignon Blanc Ritual, where the focus has been on improving the palate and texture, as they feel the focus has been on the nose and acidity, and need to improve on the texture. In 2015, they increased the number of egg-shaped cement vats in search of more complex and austere wines, showing a different face of Casablanca. 2015 was a slightly warmer vintage and it shows in the wine, it does not have the vibrancy of the 2014 or 2013, it's softer with clean flavors and good length, with more volume and a little wider. 40,000 bottles produced.
Wine EnthusiastAromas of green apple and citrus are as classic as it gets for Chilean Sauv Blanc. This is straight forward but enjoyable, with modest minerality. Flavors of citrus and gooseberry carry over onto a refreshing finish.
