J. Bouchon Canto Sur 2016
|Region||Chile, Maule Valley|
Wine AdvocateThe blend of the 2016 Canto Sur is the same as in 2015-50% Carménère and 25% each Cariñena and País. Both this and the Canto Norte are bottled unoaked, this one after four months in concrete tanks. It's very fruit-driven and fresh, with very fine tannins and a pleasant mouthfeel. It developed more Mediterranean aromas of aromatic herbs after some time in the glass. A lovely red blend.
Wine EnthusiastWith Carmenère and País in the blend along with Carignan, this shows a lot of "old country" character, namely a saucy, savory nose with herbal red-berry hints. Herbal plum and peppery flavors fade on an undistinguished finish.
All sizes are 750ml unless otherwise stated.
