Appearance: Deep garnet red with bright hues which naturally evolve with age. Bouquet: Intense, very complex, offering a wide range of notes; with remarkable red fruit combined with floral and spicy hints. Especially after a few years of ageing, this Barolo shows all the elegance and charm that only Nebbiolo grapes can offer. Flavour: Robust, rich and austere. It perfectly reflects the great complexity of the soil in Serralunga d'Alba. The perfect Barolo for long ageing. The elegant companion for important rice and pasta dishes, such as risotto cooked in Barolo, and rich and tasty main courses, such as roast meats. After a few years of ageing, this Barolo expresses its considerable potential just as well when sipped as a wine for thought and served with hard and medium-hard cheeses.

Wine SpectatorA spicy version, with a core of cherry, strawberry, licorice and tar flavors that is well-defined on a lithe body. Sleek and racy, this resonates on the long finish, showing mineral and floral notes. Detailed and expressive. Best from 2020 through 2035. 515 cases made.
Wine EnthusiastA textbook Barolo, this opens with scents of mature berry, leather, underbrush, tobacco and an elegant trace of fragrant blue flower. The well-structured palate delivers succulent black cherry, crushed raspberry, cinnamon, licorice, clove and mineral alongside a backbone of firm yet refined tannins. Drink 2020-2030.
Wine AdvocateThe 2012 Barolo Parafada carries broad shoulders and a heavier gait. This wine leaves a lasting footprint, thanks to its aromas of dark fruit, pressed cherry, smoke, tobacco and toasted spice. The wine stands out for its textural richness and its important structure that keeps everything else locked down in place.
