Campo alla Sughera Arnione 2011

We're sorry, but this product is not currently available.

A fine wine with a full and very complex nose, where aromas of red fruit blend with hints of spices. It has an elegant, harmonious palate which is balanced by fine velvety tannins. Food Pairings: Game, grilled meats, mature cheeses, and creative Tuscan cuisine such as crepes with a pecorino fondue and mushrooms, wild boar with blueberries, and Cinta Senese ham with glazed cavolo nero.

Wine SpectatorBlack currant and blueberry flavors are the hallmarks of this fruit-driven red, which is both elegant and intense. Spice and mineral accents add depth, while the firm structure carries the long finish. Best from 2016 through 2023. 2,100 cases made.

Wine EnthusiastThe 2011 Bolgheri Superiore Arnione exhibits the overtly dark and jammy style that distinguishes the other wines in this flight from Campo alla Sughera. The bouquet is heavy, dense and packed with blackberry, cherry marmalade, exotic spice, leather and moist chewing tobacco. Because the flavor profile is so intense, it's difficult to identify the wine's more delicate nuances and complexities. They are buried somewhere underneath.
