On the eye: A flamboyant, scarlet red robe - a recognisable signature. Delicate and lively effervescence.
On the nose: A rich and expressive red fruit nose - blackcurrant, blackberry, cherry and Gariguette strawberry, freshened with citrus, mandarin and blood orange. A finish lifted with paprika and saffron.
On the palate: A brisk, original and juicy wine which simultaneously offers black cherry, blackberry, pink grapefruit and blood orange notes. This structure and fruitiness is enriched with warm, spicy notes of Espelette pepper, tea and liquorice.
Candied strawberry and dried cherry fruit is layered with flavors of bread dough, smoke, licorice and lemon meringue in this aromatic rosé, in a vinous style. Finely knit, with fresh acidity driving the lacy, spiced finish. Drink now through 2018. 2,100 cases imported.
Dark orange in color, this dry wine relies on its fresh red fruits to give balance. It's perfumed with a light touch of tannin from the red wine used to produce the color. This is a food-friendly wine, crisp and dry at the end.
The NV Rosé Sauvage Brut - with 25% of red wine - has a dark salmon color and offers spicy cherry flavors. Very fruit-intense, with tension and a grippy tannin structure (which might divide opinions), this cuvée eventually lacks a bit of finesse. With that being said, it wasn't easy to taste this rather simple wine after the great vintage wines from Charles Heidsieck.
