The Calling Dutton Ranch Chardonnay 2014

Notes of hazelnuts, vanilla and Meyer lemon blossom on the nose. Flavors of honey-crisp apple, pear balanced with nice acidity. The Damy French oak sur lie barrel aging finished this wine with lemon creme brulée.

Wine AdvocateThis is a collaboration between Jim Nance and Peter Deutsch, and one certainly has to like the name they chose. Their 2014 Chardonnay Dutton Ranch displays beautiful tangerine oil, orange blossom, and honeysuckle in a medium to full-bodied, crisp, clean style with very discreet oak. Fresh and lively, this is a beautiful Chardonnay of elegance and authority. Drink it over the next 3-4 years.

Wine EnthusiastExuberantly fruit-forward and richly layered, this medium- to full-bodied white is tangy with rocky minerality and bursts of citrus in between ginger and nutmeg spice over apple crisp. It lingers luxuriously on the palate.

Wine SpectatorZesty, with a leesy orange and citrus presence and a cleansing aftertaste. There's lots to admire in this youngster, which has room to grow. Drink now through 2020. 6,245 cases made.

James Laube, 2016
