Watermill Cabernet Franc 2016
|Region||United States, Washington, Walla Walla Valley|
Wine EnthusiastThe aromas bring appeal, with notes of flower, green herb, fresh tobacco, green herb, vanilla and cherry. The palate mixes fruit and barrel, with cherry flavors intermingled with sweet barrel and baking-spice accents. The concentration seems a bit light.
Wine AdvocateMedium to deep ruby-purple in color, the 2016 Cabernet Franc opens with bell pepper and blackcurrant bud over black berries and cassis plus some chocolaty accents. Medium to full-bodied, it's dark-fruited and very chocolaty in the mouth with herbal accents, firm tannins and good freshness, finishing very long and chocolaty. This feels more like a New World Merlot than a Cabernet Franc. 162 cases produced.
