Steele Red Hills Cabernet Sauvignon 2015
The grapes are pressed to stainless steel tank and undergo 2-3 week fermentation with an extended maceration to extract every ounce of flavor. This wine is then laid down in a combination of French and hybrid oak barrels to age for a year and a half. This wine has a rich, fruit-forward elegance. A spicy fruit and berry core backed up by soft tannins makes it a nice glass of wine for casual sipping among friends. Food Pairings: This classic Cabernet Sauvignon will pair wonderfully with any red meat. Try it with a spice-rubbed rib eye steak or rack of lamb.
Rated 94 points Wine Review Online. Another impressive bottling from Jed Steele. A fresh herb aroma component makes this wine stand out in a crowd, and the palate is solidly varietal, with berry, spice and dried-herb notes in balance and finishing long and together. Tasty! A Platinum award winner at the 2017 Sommelier Challenge International Wine & Spirits Competition.
Wine SpectatorDeftly balanced, rich and layered, with a mix of mocha- and herb-laced currant, plum, herb and light cedar flavors. Very impressive for the long, pure finish. Best from 2020 through 2030. 3,200 cases made.
