The nose opens up on notes of blackcurrant, boysenberries and fresh rose petal with a hint of tobacco. The mouthfeel is soft with a savory black fruit sustained by powdery tannins. The ripeness of the fruit translates in earthy aromas with a spicy finish of cinnamon and dark chocolate notes. The vintage brings beautiful aromatic complexity and a more approachable character than the serious 2013.
Lots of violets and dark berries with sweet underbrush and fresh mushrooms, following through to a medium to full body, soft and silky tannins and a succulent and refined finish. It remains supple and beautiful. Hard not to drink now. Better after 2023.
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Altagracia has slightly muted black cherries, crushed black plums and cassis with hints of licorice, black soil and cracked pepper plus a waft of tapenade. Medium to full-bodied, rich and expressive in the mouth, it delivers a lot of layers and wonderfully fine tannins, finishing long and earthy.
Juicy and engaging, with red currant and plum fruit, stitched tightly with chalky tannins, grilled savory and singed chestnut notes. A touch old-school in feel, but the core of fruit is ripe and authoritative. Best from 2022 through 2034. 1,975 cases made.
