Color: Deep garnet. Nose: Spices of cinnamon, cloves, star anise and nutmeg, mocha, grilled bread, caramel. Palate: Velvety with elegant tannins and long finish. Food Pairing: Red meat, wild game, lamb, strong cheeses.

Wine AdvocateThe 2016 Boutisse is medium to deep garnet-purple colored and opens a little oaky/cedary to begin, giving way to notes of warm blueberries, black raspberries and cherry preserves plus touches of bay leaves, Sichuan pepper and tree bark. Medium-bodied, the palate is just a little lean and chewy, emerging with appealing freshness on the finish.
Wine SpectatorSoft and forward in feel, with a core of plum and cherry preserve flavors, lined with light singed vanilla notes. A cedar hint lingers longest in the end. Drink now through 2024. 5,000 cases made, 850 cases imported.
