Bear Flag Zinfandel 2017
|Region||California, Sonoma County|
Wine Review Online
This is a Zinfandel for fans of lots of spice – there’s pepper, cinnamon and nutmeg riding atop bright red fruit and moderate oak toast. It needs a little time in the decanter before serving. Let it round off for a few hours before serving with grilled meats of any color. A Double Gold Award winner at the 2020 Toast of the Coast International Wine Competition.
Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2017 Zinfandel sashays out of the glass with flamboyant notions of baked raspberries, blueberry pie and blackberry compote plus hints of spice cake, Christmas pudding, potpourri and incense. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has a chewy texture with lovely freshness and bags of blue fruits, finishing on a spicy note. 12,300 cases were made.
Snappy and spicy, with appealing raspberry and licorice flavors. Drink now through 2024. 24,000 cases made.
Spicy with bright red fruit, this is a rich, succulent and rounded wine with a jammy core of fruit and vanilla. Accents of leather, black pepper and cinnamon complement the concentrated fruit.
All sizes are 750ml unless otherwise stated.
