Batán de Salas Chardonnay
|Brand||Batán de Salas|
Staff Comments: This is from Spain and so refreshing. IT tastes like a glass of sunshine! Anjou pear and pineapple on the nose. Medium bodied and so unique on the taste! Guava, kiwi, lemon/lime zest and a touch of honey. But this is dry and tropical! Pair this with turkey Reuben’s, a mango, jalapeno salsa, and a summer ceviche. This puts some $20 Chardonnays to shame!
Aromas fill the air as soon as you open the bottle, Green apples and pear are very pleasant and lead to a crisp, clean and fruit forward first sip. White peaches, Granny smith apples, Anjou pear with touches of melons and tropical fruit on the finish. There is a balanced amount of acidity and floral notes that compliment a slightly creamy mouthfeel.
Served with quite a bit of chill this is a great wine to pair with grilled pork chops and wild rice.
