Bernard Remy Carte Blanche
|Region||France, Champagne, Côte des Blancs|
Wine SpectatorThe juicy apple, white raspberry and peach notes are layered with rich hints of pastry dough, almond skin and honey in this lively version, with a creamy mousse. Drink now through 2018. 800 cases made.
Wine EnthusiastBased in the Côte de Sézanne, this producer has created a Pinot Noir-dominated blend. Its white stone-fruit aromas and soft texture point to a wine that is generous with its fruitiness, citrus and pear flavors leading the way. The wine is soft with a relatively high dosage. It is ready to drink.
Wine AdvocateThe NV Brut Carte Blanche is an assemblage of 60% Pinot Noir, 35% Chardonnay and 5% Pinot Meunier sourced on clay and limestone soils of the Côtes des Blancs, Sézannais, Aube, Vallée de la Marne and Vitry le Francois. Vinified in stainless steel vats (malolactic included) and aged for two years on the lees, this citrus colored cuvée opens a bit reductive and with intense yellow-fleshed fruit aromas. Not as sophisticated as the Brut Rosé, this is a quite intense and fruity Brut with good freshness and smart sweetness on the finish. This is well made and a good entry into the world of Champagne. Try as an aperitif or with light starters. Tasted from Lot L0118 in August 2018.
