Koyle Royale Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 Bottle
Wine AdvocateLike the Royale Carmenere, the 2015 Royale Cabernet Sauvignon was sourced from the second and third terraces of their vineyards in Los Lingues. The Cabernet is always blended with a small percentage of other grapes-this year with Malbec, Merlot and Petit Verdot-that brings freshness to the blend. Some 30% full clusters were used for the fermentation with indigenous yeasts, and the wine matured in oak barrels for 22 months. This has some of the bright aromas I tend to find in Cachapoal, making it expressive and open. The palate reveals abundant, fine-grained tannins and focused, clean flavors, with a dry and long finish. Quite remarkable, classical, elegant and also powerful. 47,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in January 2017.
Wine EnthusiastCola, mint and eucalyptus aromas are attached to a spicy berry tone. The full-bodied palate is saturated yet balanced, while pepper and blackberry flavors come with an herbal undertone. Drink through 2025.
