Sourced from the winery's estate vineyards in Yakima Valley, the wine is a delicious blend of mostly Merlot and Syrah, with a bit of Petit Verdot, Grenache, Cabernet, and Sangiovese. Named after the 70 year old lone Birch tree planted by the Miller's great-great-grandfather which has provided shade for many hard workers over the years who needed to take a break, this wine will make you glad you're done with work and ready for wine. Expect a rich, soft texture with dark berry flavors and a bit of baking spice that over-delivers. For years this wine was popular as an everyday drinker, and most had no idea it was produced by Airfield Estates in Prosser. But with 950 acres and 25 varietals grown on the family farm, they have a lot to work with, and the 2018 is great example. An incredible wine for under $15, thus the 93 point score for its price category, as price matters! Not only a great anytime wine, this would be the perfect choice for a big celebration when you don't want to break the bank but at the same time want to enjoy good wine!
