Gaja's Brunello di Montalcino is crafted from Sangiovese grapes sourced from three vineyards, namely Rennina, Sugarille, and Torrenieri, situated in the northeastern region of Montalcino's Pieve Santa Restituta. Each vineyard's grapes are fermented and macerated separately for approximately three weeks. Afterward, the wine is aged in oak barrels for 24 months before being blended and aged in concrete vats for an additional six months.
This vintage showcases an initial bouquet of dried rose petals and hawthorn, followed by notes of blackberry and white pepper. On the palate, the wine is juicy, smooth, and opulent, with soft tannins and lively acidity leading to a refined and persistent finish.
All sizes are 750ml unless otherwise stated.
