Special selection of our Barolos that presented a high aptitude for ageing in our in-barrel tastings. A wine that expresses its best over the long term. The extra years of ageing guarantees the greater smoothness of the tannins and an intense bouquet
Underbrush, tobacco leaf, leather, truffle and blackberry aromas take center stage along with whiffs of toast and fig. The palate shows black cherry, carob, bitter cocoa, white pepper and sage alongside bracing tannins that leave a drying finish.
This is beginning to show some development, with licorice, decaying leaves, dried cherry and leather aromas and flavors. Still firm and lively, presenting a mouthcoating dusting of tannins. Fine length. Best from 2015 through 2029. 500 cases made.
Here's a wine you might have somewhere in your cellar. The 2008 Barolo Riserva Leon shows a silky and long disposition with tightly knit power at the back. The fruit delivers a smooth and seamless quality with dried blackberry, grilled herb and crushed river stone. The mouthfeel is marked by oak-driven notes of cinnamon and clove.
All sizes are 750ml unless otherwise stated.
