Dom Ruinart Rose is always a unique blend. The blend was made using 81% Grand Cru Chardonnay, 69% of which comes from the Cotes des Blancs (Avize, Cramant, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger) and 31% from the Montagne de Reims (Puisieulx, Sillery) with the addition of 19% Pinot Noir made into still red wine, coming only from the Sillery cru.

Dom Ruinart Rose encapsulates a balance one would believe to be impossible a classic, yet velvety style of Champagne: Intense, delicate and aromatic, all at once.

Dom Ruinart Rose matures in the cellars for twelve years and displays the essential characteristics of sublime rose Champagne as soon as released. Fresh raspberries, blend with the acidity of candied red currants, and just a hint of wild strawberry...

This all-time classic is defined by its layers of minerals laced with smoke. Flavors of the East draw you in with their complexity of exotic spices. Refined wild sea rose and a hint of dried rose petals hover on the surface of the Champagne and unfurl on the palate.

Richly aromatic, with smoke and spring blossom notes wafting through the fine and creamy layers of baked strawberry, singed orange peel and candied ginger flavors, while racy acidity forms a finely meshed frame that drives this to the long, minerally finish. Disgorged February 2016. Drink now through 2029.

Including fully 19% red wine made from Sillery Pinot Noir, the 2004 Dom Ruinart Rosé was disgorged in February 2016 with four grams per liter dosage. Displaying complex aromas of red berries, dried orange rind, potpourri, iodine, toasted nuts and wet chalk, it's medium to full-bodied, broad and textural, with a more multidimensional, vinous profile than its Blanc de Blancs counterpart, with lively acids and a chalky finish.

This is a classic style, ripe with a relatively high dosage and a mature taste. Its color shows maturity while the fruitiness has been transformed into a splendid nutty, toasty wine with attractive acidity and a soft aftertaste. Drink this rich wine now.
