This beer pours a light blonde with a bold, effervescent, head that falls quickly. The nose is full of jalapeno; earthy and bright as if you've just cut into one of them. I can nearly taste the oily spice as I inhale. The body is light on the front palate, exactly what you'd expect from a pilsner. As it passes the mid-palate the jalapeno starts to shine. The green flesh of the pepper starts to stand against the slightly sweet pilsner notes. By the back of the palate just a bit of spice develops. On the finish I get just the right amount of heat that the flow of the pilsner washes it down leaving an overall clean finish with a lingering heat at the back of my throat. When I had a few sips in short order, the spice develops and lingers quite a bit more, but each subsequent sip washes away everything but the heat on the back palate. This makes it a very refreshing beer, yet a bit more exciting than your average pilsner. Review by James Fisher
