Built to showcase hop aroma and flavor, this juicy unfiltered American IPA is all about the hops. Dominated by citrus and tropical flavors from Amarillo, Azzaca, Mosaic and Motueka hops, this IPA remain smooth and easy drinking, making it a great beer for every day.

As a fan of west coast IPAs I was very curious to see Crooked Staves' take on a juicy version. It pours opaque gold with a generous head which takes nearly 3 minutes to dissipate. The nose is filled with bitter-ish simcoe and mosaic hop notes with just a hint of citra flirting with my olfactory senses. It genuinely smells like the gloriously bitter west coast IPAs of old. The first sip is a nice balance of bitter and juicy; a hit of juicy on the front of the palate that gives way to a more bitter mid and back palate. None of these notes are so prominent that you would call it a juicy versus west coast, it kind of has them both at the same time. The carbonation is lighter than your traditional west coast, and the juicy is less prominent than what you equate with 'juicy.' The finish has a touch of bitterness, but it doesn't linger and wreck your palate like an old school west coast which makes this beer supremely drinkable. I'd dare say that the finish had gone before I finished typing that last sentence. Overall this beer is just a well-rounded, well-crafted IPA that would appeal to lovers of both styles.
