Open with a spicy aroma with hints of wild flower honey and orange blossom. Sweetness from the malt makes itself known immediately, progressing to bittersweet honey and dried fruit flavors, and finishing out with lingering earthiness from the hops.
Left Hand - St. Vrain - Belgian style tripel
This is quite a bubbly effervescent beer. Great carbonation, bubbly white, slow dissipating head. There is some fantastic lacing down the glass going on as well. There’s a clear golden coloring in the pour with warm spices and subtle malts on the nose. I get tea biscuits and vanilla when I smell this beer almost reminiscent of a Lorna Doone cookie. The taste is totally different from the smells you get from this beer...that's not a bad thing! It has strong heavy malts in the taste solid bitterness on the tongue, with hints of banana, cloves, coriander and white and black peppercorns. This beer leaves you with some aromatic floral notes on the back end that really pull this beer together. This is a full bodied great take on a tripel Ale, it’s a crisp easy sippin’ beer and those warm spices and fruit flavors can make this one of those cozy up to the fireplace beers or a summertime sipper.
