Brauerei Tucher Brau Helles Hefe Weizen
Tucher Helles Hefeweizen is a yeasty wheat beer how the Franconians like to drink it, Tucher's own "Sapienza" yeast and "Bagou" wheat malt together with bright barley malts give this Beer its aromatic yeast character. With the first sips you experience the lemon prickly flavor with fullbodied banana and kiwi notes and a long lasting tangy finish.
Tucher - Hefeweizen Helles - German Helles style wheat beer
This beer pours delightfully cloudy, as one would expect from the style, with a giant head that takes it's sweet time to settle. The nose is filled with the banana esters that I, almost exclusively, associate with German Hefeweizens. There is also some other fruit notes lingering in there; something southern, maybe kiwi. The sip is soft and fruity, the yeasty nose is complemented but some light malt and wheat notes but they aren't aggressive. Rather, this beer is a great example of the style with a more drinkable nature than some. To be honest, like many craft beer lovers German Hefeweizens and Belgians are where I started my beer journey and I have gone in a different direction over the years. This is the kind of beer that reminds me of where I once was and makes me wonder why I didn't come back. Just a rock solid German Hefe, highly recommend. Review by James Fisher
