Spicy red-fruit aromas and flavors here with some attractive fresh-licorice and aniseed notes. Medium-to full-bodied with a tight tannin framework and a flavorful, savory finish. Very tasty now, but needs a year or two to mellow. Drink from 2023.

The 2017 Barolo is noted by aromas of red cherry, tar, and menthol. The palate is fresh up front with red plum and moves into more savory, iron-rich mineral tones and bitter herbs, with building structure. A solid and classic entry Barolo from the Sordo estate to be enjoyed over the next 10-15 years, drink 2022-2036.

A round red, this evokes cherry, plum, leather and menthol before the burly tannins put a grip on the finish. This is a bit jumbled now between beginning and end, so give it some time. Best from 2024 through 2038. 25,000 cases made, 3,000 cases imported.
