Very spicy with blackberries, bark and moss on the nose, as well as dried flowers. It’s medium-bodied with firm tannins and a fresh finish. Lively and solid. Dark fruit at the end, as well as musk and hints of cedar and nuts. Drinkable now, but better in two or three years.

This is a beautifully made wine and a special expression of one of Tuscany's great under-the-radar grapes. The 2019 Pugnitello stands proud as a monovarietal wine thanks to its dark concentration, soft ripeness, blackberry preserves, earth, black truffle and crushed rose. The full-bodied mouthfeel is extracted but also soft, giving this wine a medium-term drinking window. In fact, it is preferable to drink this bottle up until the 10-year mark when that velvety primary fruit is in its prime.
