Batavia Arrack is the black sheep of rum. Made in Indonesia, far from the usual rum-producing islands. Bottled in the Netherlands, even farther, in some ways, from the sun and fun of the Caribbean. But for 3 centuries, no proper Punch was without Batavia Arrack. Its smoky funk, drawn from a unique combination of fresh-pressed sugar cane juice and a tiny bit of fermented red rice, was the perfect base for the traditional Punch combination of lemon, sugar, tea, and nutmeg.
