Zenato Valpolicella Superiore 2021

Good Superiore. Polished and contemporary, without quite hitting the sour, red fruited notes of the better traditionalists. Shows dark fruit and reductive hints of violets and camphor, with well-managed grape tannins and oak. Quite drinkable. Drink or hold.

Aromas of crushed strawberries and cherries sit ripe and inviting, accented by hints of tea leaves, tobacco, and warm baking spices. The palate sharpens with tart cranberry and sour cherry, balanced by a subtle earthiness. Fresh and structured, the wine hums with bright acidity and a lingering, savory finish.

This light- to medium-bodied red is balanced and easy-drinking, offering flavors of chopped cherry and raspberry, with hints of tobacco, smoke and spices. Corvina, Rondinella and Corvinone. Drink now. 40,000 cases made, 8,000 cases imported.

The 2021 Valpolicella Superiore wafts up with a bouquet of rosy florals and peppery wild berries. It's silky smooth with a savory character as mineral-laced red fruits swirl throughout. This tapers off cleanly with medium length, leaving a pleasantly tart sensation.
