Dry Creek Fume Blanc 2022
|Region||California, Sonoma County, Dry Creek Valley|
Our 2022 Fumé Blanc emanates the classic Dry Creek Vineyard "house" style of Sauvignon Blanc. Aromatics of lemon, lime and grapefruit leap forward from the glass with both fruit and floral nuances of nectarine, peach, jasmine and orange blossom. On the palate, the wine is intense and bright with passionfruit, tangerine and cucumber. Underlying minerality and hints of lemongrass, parsley and mango contribute to this wine's refreshing, crisp finish.
Wine Review Online
This charming, dry white wine, made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes, has been a success ever since Dry Creek released its first vintage in 1972. The word “Fumé” is a reference to the Loire Valley’s Pouilly-Fumé, which it resembles far more than a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. With no grassy or asparagus notes, Dry Creek’s Fumé offers traces of grapefruit, lime and peeled apple along with chalky minerality. There is plenty of tension in this crystalline wine, and plenty of length as well.
