Nipozzano 2015 has an intense ruby-red colour. The nose provides a pleasant combination of the clear notes of red berries and lightly toasted coffee, lending complexity to the wine before giving way to a fresh and spicy finish. In the mouth the wine is rich, characterised by the elegant density of the grapes and the mineral freshness of the finish that make it balanced and persistent. Food Pairing: Grilled red meat, roast lamb, semi-matured pecorino cheese.
What a pretty interplay between blackcurrants, boysenberries, spices, cedar and pine cones. Full-bodied but ever so delicate with a finely woven texture of taut tannins, running through layers of finely tuned blue and red fruit. Long and elegant on the finish. Best ever? Delicious now but better in 2021.
The 2015 Chianti Rufina Riserva Nipozzano has a pretty garnet ruby color and offers lots of cherry and nice fruit intensity. With rich, inner ripeness and dense texture, this wine delivers a great quality-to-price ratio within the greater Frescobaldi portfolio. The quality of Sangiovese from Chianti Rufina is always a little bit brighter and sharper compared to other parts of Tuscany, even in a hot vintage such as this.
Red-berry, blue-flower, tobacco, scorched earth and leather aromas slowly take shape on this polished red. The linear palate offers dried cherry, currant, ground clove and a hint of coffee alongside taut close-grained tannins. Showing the warmth of the vintage, it's already accessible. Drink through 2022.
