Hess Collection Chardonnay 2017 Bottle
|Region||California, Napa Valley|
Wine EnthusiastThis well-made white offers a balanced mélange of apple, pear and cinnamon. Bright acidity lifts it all and works well with the French oak.
Wine AdvocateThe 2017 Chardonnay Estate was fermented in a combination of stainless steel and barrels, and 20-25% of the fruit went through malolactic. Aged in 20% new oak, it leaps from the glass with bold tropical fruit notes of green mango, guava and fresh pineapple with touches of honeysuckle, spiced pears and cedar. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is packed with ripe pear and exotic fruit salad with great freshness and a long spicy finish.
Wine SpectatorRipe, with cloying notes to the baked apple and dried fig flavors. Freshly sawed oak accents show on the finish. Drink now. 20,713 cases made.
