|Region||California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley|
Wine EnthusiastBright in acidity and cradled moderate oak, this wine shows a crunchiness to the tannins and bright bursts of cranberry, pomegranate and orange peel flavors. Elements of baking spice dot the finish, contrasting well against the rich fruit.
Wine Review Online): It’s pretty tough to beat the Rodney Strong line when it comes to value for your dollar. This vintage of the Russian River Valley Pinot Noir delivers again, with a lively cherry cola vibe that is full flavored and long, with a touch of pomegranate coming forward in the finish. Racy acidity keeps the party going -- pair it with fish or fowl. A Platinum Award winner at the 2019 Critics Challenge International Wine & Spirits Competition.
Wine SpectatorRefined, featuring lithe flavors of cherry tart and raspberry, with hints of nutmeg, all supported by medium-grained tannins and fresh acidity. Chocolate, spice and cream details emerge on the rich finish. Drink now through 2024. 67,500 cases made.
Wine AdvocateThe 2016 Pinot Noir Estate Vineyard Russian River Valley is pale to medium ruby in the glass with a nose of Bing cherry, tart cranberry and pomegranate plus notes of woodsmoke, earth and dried leaves. Light to medium-bodied with a good core of tart red fruits, it has firm, slightly grippy tannins but good freshness on the finish. Good effort. 67,500 cases produced.
