Frei Brothers Reserve Zinfandel 2015
|Region||California, Sonoma County, Dry Creek Valley|
Wine Review Online A satisfying, middle of the road style that will please a crowd of Zinfandel enthusiasts. Bright fruit, pepper, and soft oak spice are well integrated and finish long and lively. No accompaniment required -- just sip away. A Platinum Award Winner at the 2018 San Diego International Wine & Spirits Challenge.
Wine SpectatorExpressive raspberry jam aromas open to snappy, fruit-forward cherry and spicy cinnamon flavors. Drink now through 2022.
Wine AdvocateThe 2015 Zinfandel, which includes 2% Petite Sirah in the blend, is aged six months in primarily used American and French oak. It is a big boy at 14.8% alcohol, but shows nice briary berry fruit that moves toward the blue and black spectrum of flavors. It is a spicy, peppery, lush and heady Zinfandel to drink over the next 3-4 years.
Wine EnthusiastBrawny and brooding, this rich wine shows a density of flavor and personality. Plum, strawberry and leathery black pepper form its core.
