Wine AdvocateThe 2014 Bolgheri Rosso Poggio ai Ginepri opens to a streamlined approach that is due in part to the subtle nature of this cool vintage and in part to the easy winemaking style. This Bolgheri Rosso is made up of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Syrah, 20% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot, and was aged in oak for eight months. It offers immediate appeal and a less formal drinking style that makes it an ideal companion for grilled meat or sausage. The bouquet is redolent of dark fruit and red cherry, and there is a pretty point of refreshing acidity on the close.
Wine EnthusiastMade of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Syrah and 20% Merlot, this has black-skinned berry and baking spice aromas. The approachable palate delivers blackberry, cocoa and cinnamon notes with round, supple tannins. Enjoy through 2019.
