Aged for 14 months in 48% new French oak and stirred on the lees twice each month, the 2016 Chardonnay Benchland Series reveals notions of fresh pears, ripe nectarines and pineapple with touches of allspice, clover honey and croissant. Medium to full-bodied, it has a pleasantly oily texture and a lively line lifting the intense flavors to a long finish. 600 cases were made.
Apple pastry and ripe pear flavors dominate this open-textured style, ending with a spicy finish. Drink now. 1,200 cases made.
