|Region||New Zealand, Otago, Central Otago|
Plump cherry, raspberry and plum flavors have a firm edge and a bright minerally note of crushed rock, with accents of toasted herb and spice lingering on the finish. Drink now through 2030. 1,200 cases imported.
The mouthwatering, supple 2015 Mohua Pinot Noir delivers ample cherry fruit and just enough earth and spice nuances to keep it interesting sip after sip. It's medium-bodied, plump and juicy, with a light dusting of tannin on the finish. Drink it over the next few years.
There's a lot to love about this Pinot's aromatics, with notes of florals, meat, roasted peppers, chocolate covered cherries and whole peppercorns. The palate, however, is less in tune, for the moment at least. Light to medium-bodied, the oak is prominent, very nearly drowning out the juicy fruit, and the acidity is almost biting. The tannins, though, are silky and well-structured. Drink 2019-2025.
