This Pinot starts off plush, fruity and relatively rich, with red fruit, mealy oak, baking spice and floral notes. It's saved by the palate that is unexpectedly elegant, lifted and fresh, wound by spicy, chalky tannins that have muscle but never take over. Red berry and spice flavors flow gracefully to the finish.

This has a roasted, toasty overtone to the spice, herb and tobacco notes and firm fruit flavors at the core. Balanced and muscular. Drink now.

Herbal nuances join ripe cherries and pomegranate on the nose of the 2018 Mohua Pinot Noir. Medium to full-bodied, it's supple and expansive in the mouth but lacks a sense of depth or any semblance of length. Superficially attractive, clean and well made, it's the stereotypical vacuous model with nothing much to say and a short shelf life. At least it won't cost you the equivalent of an expensive dinner.
