This year Syrah and Mourvedre presented beautifully. Harvested at perfect maturity, the Grenache brings power and body to this vintage. Our 2013 has more of a northern style than southern. Rich, deep colours, the nose has complex notes of black fruit and cocoa, tobacco and mild spices. The mouth is full-‐bodied and long, the tannins are rich and soft with a beautiful persistent finish.

Wine AdvocateNot yet bottled, the 2014 Châteauneuf du Pape is one of the few inky colored wines in the vintage. Medium to full-bodied, concentrated and ripe with notable tannin, it offers beautiful notes of blackberry, shitake mushrooms, licorice and pepper meats. It plays in the 2014 vintage's forward, supple nature, but has real depth and concentration. I don't think it will be the longest lived Beaucastel, but it will have 15-20 years of overall longevity.

VinousDeep ruby. Potent smoke- and peppery spice-tinged cherry and black raspberry aromas are complemented by suggestions of licorice, smoked meat and candied flowers. Densely packed and taut on entry, unfolding quickly to offer sweet black raspberry and cherry-cola flavors that are given vivacity and spine by juicy acidity. Concentrated yet energetic in style, offering excellent closing thrust, smooth tannins and lingering notes of sweet dark berries and spicecake.
