Taste: Lovely red fruits, with full rich flavors balanced by silky tannins.

Wine EnthusiastWhile this is a firm wine, full of dry tannins and smoky wood-aging flavors, it also has plenty of ripe and juicy fruit. Red berry and black currant show strongly, filling the wine out and promising roundness as it ages. Drink from 2017.
Wine AdvocateNow owned by proprietor Jean Guyon, this blend of 65% Merlot, 29% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc comes from the treasure trove of cru bourgeois wines, the northern Médoc village of Bégadan. Complex notes of lead pencil shavings, earth, black and red currants and spice are all present in this relatively evolved, soft, medium-bodied 2012. It should drink nicely for another 7-8 years. On a personal note, I drank enormous quantities of Greysac when it was under the ownership of Baron Gunzberg in the 1970s and 1980s, as it was often available for $5.00 to $6.00 a bottle! This is definitely a sleeper of the vintage.
