To preserve fruit conditions, grapes were picked under lights each morning, followed by hand-sorting before being gravity fed to tank for a long natural fermentation using an overall average of 22% whole clusters in the final blend. Regular punch downs produced a textured wine with elegant structure and a Freestone spice characteristic that is distinctive to this region of the western Sonoma Coast. The 2014 Pinot Noir showcases aromatic red fruit, fragrant violet and savory spices. Fresh and focused on the palate with concentrated red raspberry and cherry, currant, baking spices and a hint of smoked meat. Nicely textured with firm acidity and a lingering finish.

Wine AdvocateHaving seen 19% whole cluster, the 2015 Pinot Noir Freestone Vineyard has a medium ruby-purple color and nose of red cherries and black raspberries with hints of wild thyme, forest floor, lavender and moss. Medium-bodied, the palate is elegant and finely grained, with intense earth and red berry flavors, as well as a long finish.
