Chateau Diana Sparkplug Red Blend BottleA sumptuous blend of California Malbec, Petit Verdot, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel all aged in Tennessee Bourbon barrels. This wine is huge in all aspects: deep black fruit aromas with undertones of cigar box, cedar wood and anise. The lush flavors take the wine and bourbon on an adventure intertwined with blackberries, plums and cassis. The bourbon lifts notes lift the boldness level up a notch, depositing hints of char, smoke and caramel chewiness. This red is big, round and bossy. Time to get the fire started. This wine would fall into the same category as an Old Vine Zinfandel when it comes to food pairings: BBQ chicken, baby back ribs, flat bread pizza, pulled pork, and most items served hot off the BBQ. Chateau Beaumont Haut Medoc 2015The wines of Château BEAUMONT are characterized by their supple; feminine structure, which is often silky. The tannins are generally mellow and rarely aggressive. All this contributes to making the wine full of charm and finesse. It can be tasted young, except for certain vintages which absolutely must be allowed to rest for a few years in the cellar. It highlights the dominance of Cabernet Sauvignon on this land which is reputed to be among the best for growing this varietal... It is typical of the excellent Garonne gravel ridges which make up the land of the estate and thus the treasure of Beaumont.

Bieler Père et Fils Sabine Rosé 2018The string of warm vintages continued in 2018 but the main headline was the extreme drought. There was almost no rain from May through harvest and as a result yields were down about 20% for most (even more for those who had frost or other issues). Grape clusters were loose and berry sizes small. The good news though is that flavors are amazing and quite concentrated though without being heavy. Temperatures were moderate in the fall so acidity was retained allowing unusual balance of flavor and freshness. You're gonna love it.
